Sean Volk, Programmer/Exhibitor
Sean Volk is a film programmer and arts advocate. He programs for three Academy Award-qualifying film festivals: Mountainfilm, the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Currently. Sean serves as a Lead Programmer at Mountainfilm and he is the Narrative Feature Programmer at the Woods Hole Film Festival. He is a Programmer at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival. Additionally, he is a member of the shorts team at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Previously, Sean has programmed for the Nashville Film Festival and the Fargo Film Festival. He has also screened for AFI Docs, AFI Fest, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, the Calgary International Film Festival, and the Port Townsend Film Festival. Sean received his MA in Film Studies from Western University in London, Ontario in 2015; his scholarship explored representations of monstrosity in the films of Guillermo del Toro. He completed his undergraduate studies in Philosophy, Communication, and Spanish at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.
