Rethink Dance Film Festival Goes Virtual

The Rethink Dance Film Festival is going virtual in November, with the films screened at the in-person event in October, plus an additional 9 films. Among the titles screening is WAKE, shot and directed by NDFS’s Oscar De Leon with Kevin Ackley.

For those who attended the in-person event, or those who donated to the Rethink Dance film project, will receive discounted virtual admission.

The 2020 virtual Rethink Dance Film Festival will take place November 12-14. Click here to purchase passes today!

In addition to the virtual screenings, Rethink Dance Film Festival Chair Haylee Thompson confirmed with NDFS that the festival will host in-person screenings in three new locations: Sioux Falls, Grand Forks, and Minneapolis. The dates and specific locations will be announced soon.

Thompson also announced the Rethink Dance Youth Film Festival will take place in March 2021. This festival is open to middle school and high school-aged filmmakers and dancers. The following dates are set for the Youth Film Festival:

  • November 1, 2020: Submissions open

  • January 31, 2021: Regular deadline

  • February 28, 2021: Late deadline

  • March 15, 2021: Notification day

  • March 30, 2021: Youth Film Festival
