Official Selections of 2022 North Dakota Environmental Rights Film Festival Announced

The nonprofit The Human Family announced today the full lineup of official selections for the 2nd annual North Dakota Environmental Rights Film Festival (NDERFF). A hybrid exhibition in 2022, the festival will screen films in-person April 21-23 at the historic Fargo Theatre. Online screenings will take place from April 23 through March 1 through the festival’s virtual portal.
The film lineup features 21 films from 9 countries, including 2 World premieres, 9 U.S. premieres, and seven regional premieres. Over 95% of the screenings held in the exhibition are selected from the festival’s open call, which drew 87 submissions from 23 countries.
The festival features stories that focus on the intersection between environmental and human rights. The films embrace stories of sustainability and conservation, volatile weather patterns, the legal rights of the environment, Indigenous voices, and the impact and power of art. Community conversations and filmmaker Q&As will take place throughout the festival.
The Official Program for the festival, which will include screening schedules and planned community conversations, will be released on Monday, March 14. Passes go on sale Wednesday, March 16, 2022, for the in-person and virtual festival. Tickets to individual events go on sale Wednesday, March 23.
