6th North Dakota Film Society Awards Winners Announced

FARGO, ND—The North Dakota Film Society is proud to reveal the winners of the 6th Annual North Dakota Film Society Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in filmmaking of 2024. Sean Baker’s ANORA (Neon) emerged as the big winner, taking home Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Mikey Madison), Best Supporting Actor (Yura Borisov), and Best Ensemble.

Other notable winners include Timothée Chalamet, awarded Best Actor for his transformative performance in A COMPLETE UNKNOWN (Searchlight Pictures), and DUNE: PART TWO (Warner Bros.), which claimed Best Effects and Best Sound. THE BRUTALIST (A24) was recognized for Best Cinematography and Best Production Design, while CHALLENGERS (Amazon MGM Studios) triumphed in Best Editing, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song.

This year’s awards also celebrated global storytelling, with EMILIA PÉREZ (Netflix) taking home Best International Feature, and the powerful documentary NO OTHER LAND (ImmerGuteFilme) earning Best Documentary Feature.

The North Dakota Film Society is comprised of film journalists, educators, exhibitors, and filmmakers based in North Dakota.
