The 2021 Sundance Film Festival ended last night with family drama “CODA” winning four prizes during the virtual awards ceremony. The coming-of-age film from director Sian Heder was awarded the grand jury prize, the directing prize, the audience award, and a special jury prize for best ensemble. It is the first film in Sundance history to win all three top prizes in the U.S. Dramatic category.

Earlier during the festival, “CODA” broke the record for highest selling film in festival history when Apple TV+ picked up the worldwide distribution rights for $25 million.

“Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” won both the grand jury and audience awards in the U.S. Documentary Competition category. The film was directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.
