‘Aftersun’ Named Best Picture at 4th North Dakota Film Society Awards

BY SCOTTIE KNOLLIN

Charlotte Wells’ debut feature, “Aftersun,” was named Best Picture at the 4th annual North Dakota Film Society Awards. Starring Paul Mescal, the film also received the award for Best Film Editing. “Babylon,” the latest Hollywood epic from Damien Chazelle, earned the most wins of any film, with three: Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score.

The Best Picture win for “Aftersun” marks the third year in a row that a film by a female director won the top prize at the NDFS Awards.

The North Dakota Film Society is comprised of film journalists, educators, exhibitors, and filmmakers based in North Dakota.
