INHERITANCE
A second trailer for Vaughn Stein’s “Inheritance” has been released by Signature Ent. in the UK. Lauren’s (Lily Collins) extremely wealthy father has passed away and has left behind quite the inheritance for his wife and daughter. With a set of keys and jump drive in hand, Lauren discovers her father’s secret bunker, but that’s not all that is revealed in the trailer. An unknown man (Simon Pegg) is being held against his will inside of the secret bunker, but the reason for this scraggly man’s imprisonment is unclear. The preview sets up a series of secrets being held by numerous people with layers of reveals. The rest of the cast includes Connie Nielsen, Chace Crawford, Michael Beach and Patrick Warburton. The film is currently available in the United State on VOD and will be released in the UK in July.
#ALIVE
A teaser for the Korean zombie film “#Alive” was released this week giving viewers a slightly different take on the horror subgenre. This trailer shows us that the majority of the population has been infected by some sort of virus that has transformed people into ravenous zombies. A sole survivor has locked himself in his apartment, but is soon located and joined by his female neighbor from another building. The two are seen using their resources to survive in a world overrun by the undead. The film stars Yoo Ah-In and Park Shin-Hye as the zombie-bashing survivalists. Even though the teaser doesn’t show too much, this looks like one wild ride of a movie. It will be released in South Korea on June 24th. We will have to wait patiently in isolation for an international announcement.
INTO THE DARK: GOOD BOY
Hulu’s “Into the Dark” series continues with a peek into the latest installation called “Good Boy”. Judy Greer stars as Maggie, a woman unable to be fulfilled in the dating world who decides adopting an adorable canine companion is the answer to her woes. All is going well until her new emotional support animal starts sensing her anxieties and begins brutally killing the people who cause them. The movie’s cast also includes Steve Guttenberg, Ellen Wong, Elise Neal, Maria Conchita Alonso, McKinley Freeman and Chico. The trailer shows that a cute, cuddly dog can also have an extreme dark side when it comes to protecting their parent. This will stream exclusively on Hulu beginning June 12th.
