Oscar De Leon, NDFS founding member and co-creator of Chamber Six Media, is the writer/director of the visual adaptation album of “Trip 27” by Fargo-based rapper/producer Huck.

For nearly two years, De Leon, who works under the pseudonym guero, and Huck. have been collaborating on music videos filmed across North Dakota. For this new project, which recently received grant funding by The Arts Partnership, the duo will shoot a 5-part music video-short film hybrid along a cross country road trip.

To help with production, which is currently underway, De Leon has launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign. In the campaign notes, he highlights that he and Huck. have a long-standing bond over cinema as a form of visual expression. “We both knew we could create something great when we combined our talents.” Once the film project is complete, De Leon and Huck. hope to support North Dakota’s repertory theatres with hybrid screenings and musical live performances.

Funds raised via the Indiegogo will help cover costs of the trip, including proper lodging, food, and an emergency fund, just in case. Funds will also assist in compensating the filmmaking team for travel, equipment, and hours worked. The campaign also notes that over half of the budget has been raised. For contributing, donors will receive a credited “thank you” in the project, plus additional goodies like pins, t-shirts, and posters. The filmmakers will also provide donors with exclusive behind-the-scenes content along the way.
