2021 Fargo Film Festival Submissions Now Open

Each March, over 100 films of al genres and from around the world play the Fargo Film Festival, North Dakota’s premier motion picture event.

For the 2021 Fargo Film Festival, scheduled for March 16-20, submissions for films are now open. Click here to see the full rules and terms and to submit your film.

Housed at the historic Fargo Theatre in downtown Fargo, the Fargo Film Festival has operated for over two decades and has hosted Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning films, as well as conversations with filmmakers and others involved in the industry. The Fargo Film Festival names winners in seven categories, plus honors films and individuals with special awards. The Ted M. Larson Award honors those who have contributed to film education, production, culture, and/or criticism and history. George A. Romero, John Waters, Hal Hartley, Don Hertzfeldt, Janet Leigh, Richard Edlund, and Leonard Maltin are past recipients of the award.

For the narrative feature category and documentary feature category, submissions must be received by October 1, 2020. There is no late or extended deadline available. In order to qualify, films must have been completed after January 1, 2019.
