‘Tenet’, ‘Soul’ Earn Wins by the Motion Picture Sound Editors

The Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild’s 68th Golden Reel Awards were held this weekend during a virtual ceremony. Though it is still considered the frontrunner for the Oscar, “Sound of Metal” was overshadowed by other feature films, including “Tenet”, “Soul”, and “Greyhound”.

Out of the list of winners, “Soul” and “Greyhound” are the only two who made it among the nominees of the Academy’s new Best Sound category.

In addition to competitive categories, the MPSE Filmmaker Award was bestowed upon director George Miller.

The MPSE Career Achievement Award was given to supervising sound editor Dennis Drummond.
